Orrick’s pro bono law practice makes a positive impact on the New York community. For more than a decade, they have partnered with the Storefront Academy, an independent, private, tuition-free school in New York’s Harlem community that educates preschool through eighth-grade children. Through pro bono litigation, they've protected the rights of low-income parents, tenants, immigrants, consumers and have played a role in reforming the state’s juvenile detention facilities. Orrick also partnered with the Urban Justice Center and the New York County Lawyers’ Association on an innovative program that provides support to veterans seeking discharge upgrades to gain access to essential benefits and services. Their team is also proud to serve as outside general counsel to the Innocence Project. Finally, Orrick has devoted significant resources to its innovative impact finance and social enterprise practice that brings basic services and community economic development to those most disadvantaged.
