Work is Dead: An Analysis of Basic Income Guarantees - SOLD OUT!

Presented with Nowadays

In the modern period the role of work has taken on a central role in shaping our identity. One of the first questions asked when meeting someone is, “What do you do?” and consistently a job title is the response.

However, as technology and automation increase our ability to efficiently produce the goods necessary for sustaining our material existence and in light of the pressing environmental challenges we face; do we need to radically rethink our socio-political commitment to universal employment?

In this Olio we will examine the benefits and potential difficulties of implementing basic income guarantees as a vehicle for restructuring post-industrial societies.
